Hitmen improve to 3-2 in WHL Pre-Season

Coleman, AB – Terrell Draude broke a 1-1 tie scoring early in the third period to lift the Calgary Hitmen to a 2-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes Saturday night in Coleman at the Crowsnest Sports Complex.

Draude also added an assist and is now tied for the team lead in pre-season scoring with six points in four games.

Landon Welykholowa, with his second goal of the exhibition schedule, also scored for Calgary.

The Hitmen outshot the Hurricanes 31-23 with Evan Johnson going the distance in goal making 22 saves to pick up the win.

Both teams went 0-3 on the powerplay.

The Hitmen, now 3-2 in the WHL pre-season, will wrap up their exhibition schedule tomorrow afternoon against the Kootenay Ice.  Game time is 2:00 pm at the Crowsnest Sports Complex in Coleman.

The 72-game 2014-15 regular season schedule begins on Saturday, September 20 with the Adrenalin Source for Sports Home Opener against the Red Deer Rebels.  Game time is 7:00 pm at Scotiabank Saddledome.
