Oil Kings take first series lead with Game 5 win

The Edmonton Oil Kings scored twice 44 seconds apart late in the first period to turn a 1-0 lead into a 3-0 advantage and never looked back en route to a 5-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen Friday night at Rexall Place.

The victory gives Edmonton a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Final.

Five different Oil Kings scored goal while Stephane Legault and Dylan Wruck chipped in a pair of assists.

Brooks Macek had the lone marker for Calgary who was out shot 40-29.

The series resumes Sunday in Calgary with a 4 o'clock start at Scotiabank Saddledome.
